Venice Beach is the busiest facility operated by the Department of Recreation and Parks. The Boardwalk, also known as Ocean Front Walk, is the second most-visited destination in Southern California, with an average of over 10 million visitors per year. – laparks.org

ABOUT US

Friends of Venice Boardwalk is a pro bono group of committed community members working to make sure that our treasured park thrives for generations to come. We envision a park environment that is clean, safe, and joyful with recreational and cultural opportunities for all ages.

The Venice Beach Boardwalk is a uniquely challenging location. We recognize that LA Recreation and Parks, LA City, and LA County simply don’t have the capacity to meet all of the complex needs of our park. Our purpose is to provide leadership and resources to bridge the services gap.

OUR MISSION

To ensure fair, safe, and equitable access to the park’s open space and recreational activities and to sustain the vibrantly welcoming character of our world-renowned boardwalk – including its irreplaceable culture and exceptional history.
